Frequently Asked Questions

1. How can I enter?
You can enter ONLINE through our chosen entry system Active.com You can create your own Athlete Profile, so in future you can enter quickly and easily without having to re-enter your personal information!

If you prefer the pen and paper method, then please download an application form and make payment either by bank deposit, cheque or internet transfer. Post your application to Flat 11, Block M, Scenic Villas, 26 Scenic Villa Drive Pokfulam or fax to 3015 8537.

2. How can I make changes to my entry?
You can change your personal details, or change category from Challenge to Sprint (or vice versa) anytime up until Friday 5pm prior to the race. Simply email your request to info@revolution-asia.com 

3. If I can't make an event can I transfer my entry to another race or get a refund?
Under the terms and conditions of entry, there are no refunds! However, if you cannot attend an event you have registered for, you may transfer your entry to another Revolution Asia event in 2012. You must notify us by email to info@revolution-asia.com by the Wednesday prior to the event.

4. Can I transfer my race entry to another competitor?
No unfortunately you cant transfer your entry to another competitor, but you may transfer your entry to another Revolution Asia event. See answer to question 3.

5. Where can I find photos of the race?
You can access photos from our Website under the Photos heading and click on the race details that you require.

6. How do I access my results from the event?
Race results are posted on the event website by Monday morning following the race. Look under the heading "Results".

7. My results are incorrect or not showing!!
If your results appear incorrectly and/or are not showing, please make sure you have searched thoroughly then email info@revolution-asia.com Please include your name, race number, and any other information that may help, such as other competitors finishing around you. We will look into this and get back to you as soon as possible.

8. Can I enter on race morning?
No, sorry we don't accept entries on race morning.

9. Can I race with an MP3 or other music player?
At no time during the competition is a MP3 player, headphones, headset, mobile phone etc permitted. Sorry, but you can manage without for the race!

10. Is there a bag compound?
There is a bag compound located near the Registration desk. However please don't bring any valuables!

11. What are the age restrictions?
Kids over 8 years old may enter the O'ahu Kids Splash.  Persons over 16 years may enter the Sprint or Challenge distance depending on their preference.

13. What is in my race kit?
Your race kit consists of;

Timing band (to be worn around ankle)
Swim cap (worn during swim)
Sponsor products

15. What equipment should I bring?
Since you will be swimming and running it is a good idea to pack the following items;
Goggles
Running shoes
Singlet or t-shirt to wear on the run (compulsory for males, females may wear bathers or bather top only)
Elastic laces on running shoes (enable fast transitions)
Water bottle (to stay hydrated pre-event, and to wash sand off feet after swim)
Hat and sunglasses
Sunscreen
Towel for a post race shower

16. It is my first Aquathon event and I'm nervous, what happens on race day?
Congratulations on entering your first Aquathon! I'm sure you'll find it an enjoyable and fulfilling experience!
1. REGISTRATION When you arrive at the venue you should head to the Registration desk and collect your personal items for the race. You will receive a swim cap to wear during the swim leg, a timing band to wear for the entire race, an event information sheet to read. You will also be told what your race number is.
2. BODY NUMBERING You should then go to the body numbering area where a volunteer will write your race number on your arm.
3. TRANSITION AREA After these formalities are completed you can make your way to the transition area. You will have a designated basket with your number on it where you should place all the items you will need for the second leg of the race. You will need to already be wearing the items you need for the first leg! Take note of where your basket is located also so you can find it quickly.
4. BAGGAGE AREA When you are ready to start the race you can leave your bag in the storage area near the registration desk where it will be looked after by volunteers.
5. RACE BRIEFING A briefing is held approx. 10 minutes prior to race start where you will be informed of the route for the event, wave start times and any other last minute information.
6. RACE START Take some deep breathes and relax prior to the start of the race. If you are unsure of your ability then start at the back of the pack and take your time working into the race. There are volunteers along the entire course who can answer any questions you may have.
7. POST RACE Be sure to grab a drink and find some shade immediately after you finish the race. Chat to some other competitors about your race and compare stories! Congratulate yourself on a job well done! The prize presentations are held approx. 20 minutes after the last competitor has crossed the line. Results are posted on the website the Monday morning after the event.

17. Do I have to wear a t-shirt during the run?
Yes! Everyone must have their torso covered during the run leg, either by a t-shirt, singlet or bather top (females).

18. I'm not a good swimmer, will it be OK for me to enter?
Of course! You can do any stroke that you like, as slow as you like! We have lifeguards patrolling the swim course should you get into any trouble, but most people find that if they take the swim slowly they get to the other end just fine!

19. Will I come last?
Somebody has to come last in every race, and usually they get the biggest round of applause out of any competitor! You should race for enjoyment and not worry about your placing. Being active and healthy should be your main goal, and the race can be your motivation to train harder so you will improve your time next event!
